Become a PPM Tutor

Get paid to tutor. Learn how to teach properly.

Remote, flexible one-to-one tutoring for academically strong university students and graduates. No previous tutoring experience required. Training, resources and ongoing coaching provided.

The opportunity

Fully remote — tutor from wherever you are.
Flexible around university — fit sessions around lectures and study.
One-to-one teaching — work directly with individual students.
Training and coaching — learn the PPM approach and receive useful feedback.

Starting/development pay is £15/hour. Progression to £18–£22/hour is based on demonstrated teaching quality, reliability and responsibility. Hours are not guaranteed.

Who we're looking for

We care more about teaching potential and coachability than previous tutoring experience.

You should have excellent subject knowledge, explain ideas clearly, be dependable and organised, and feel comfortable working with young people. We value curiosity about how people learn, enjoyment of explaining difficult ideas, and willingness to develop your teaching through feedback.

We are particularly recruiting Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology tutors. GCSE and A-Level capability is especially valuable.

How selection works

  2. Teaching audition — shortlisted candidates show how they explain ideas, respond to confusion and use feedback. No polished lesson is expected.

  3. Training — successful candidates learn the PPM approach and receive resources and coaching.

  4. Start tutoring — suitable tutors are matched by subject, level and availability. Hours are not guaranteed.
